Victor M. Oreshnikov (1904-1987) is an eminent Russian painter of the 20th century, People’s Artist of the USSR, Full Member of the USSR Academy of Arts, Doctor of art criticism, Professor, Head of two painting workshops at I. Repin University of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, USSR Academy of Arts. From 1962 to 1977 he was the Head of the same University. His pictures are in the State Russian museum, St. Petersburg, in the Tretiakov Gallery, Moscow, in the biggest museums of the former Soviet Republics and in many collections of Europe, Asia and America.
